Sleight of Dev

Work

Two built for clients, two of my own. All four are online right now, so none of this is a mock-up or a concept. Open any of them and you are looking at the running thing. None of them is a page that just sits there either: they update themselves, they run on Cloudflare’s edge, and they answer in under two tenths of a second.

BTN Crew

btncrew.com(opens in a new tab)
The BTN Crew home page: a black screen with the Bring the Noise logo in green brush lettering.

Brighton site and stage crew: festival builds, stage production, plant operators. The people who book them are usually on a phone, on site, with mud on it. The site has to answer “can you do this job, on these dates” before anything else.

  • Four pages, every one of them ending at the same quote form
  • Recent jobs pull straight from their Instagram every six hours, so the site stays current without anyone editing it
  • Google reviews and their NPORS, CPCS and IPAF tickets on the page, because both get asked for
  • Their own brand carries the hero. No stock photography of people in hard hats

Marcus Garvey

marcusgarvey.actor(opens in a new tab)
The Marcus Garvey home page: a headshot above his name, set on a near-black ground.

A working screen actor: Hijack, Fool Me Once, Disclaimer, Four Lions, Broadchurch. Casting arrives knowing one credit and needs the rest inside a minute, then needs the agent’s number.

  • Headshot first, because casting recognises a face before a name
  • Every credit from 2009 to 2025 on one page, with stills and IMDb links
  • Acting and voice enquiries routed to two different agents, so neither gets the wrong one
  • One page, so nothing is more than a scroll away

Framework Prompting

My ownframeworkprompting.com(opens in a new tab)
The Framework Prompting home page: a large serif headline reading “Build better prompts with strategy, not guesswork.”

A tool that turns a vague task into a prompt you can reuse. Free, open source, no sign-up, and it runs entirely in your browser.

  • The whole tool runs in the browser. Nothing you type is stored or sent anywhere
  • Exports to Markdown or XML, so the prompt travels to whichever assistant you use
  • Free, open source, no sign-up and no account
  • Its guidance refreshes itself daily from the official OpenAI, Anthropic and Google docs
  • One action, visible on every screen

SketchScript

My ownsketchscript.app(opens in a new tab)
The SketchScript holding page: bold black type on ruled yellow notepaper reading “SketchScript v2 is coming.”

Paste in a meeting transcript, get back a hand-drawn sketchnote. Version one is retired while I rebuild it. What is online now is the holding page.

  • A holding page while version two is built, rather than leaving a dead link
  • One field and one promise: a single email when it opens, and no newsletter
